About Camilight

Quick story time,

Back in 2019, I shared my story of mental health challenges, coming up with the Be Light concept. After preaching about the light we have within us, the concept of being light became a part of my identity. Shortly after the nickname Camilight came about, I began to share my knowledge with my family and friends and helped to empower them to Be Light. I loved it, it represented who I was, and what messages I wanted to spread.

Throughout my life journey, I've encountered many situations. I’ve faced challenges expressing my emotions, healing from heartbreaks, handling disappointments, insecurities, and overcoming my fears. However, everything happens for a reason, and with that said, these trials and tribulations have ultimately inspired the ideas and stories in my poetry. One day I found a way to put things into words (kinda). What started as just a few words put together, later on became full out poems. These poems were full of feelings and emotions. Being vulnerable and resilient were then characteristics attached to my new identity of Camilight. I wanted to walk in confidence, and show the world there is power in vulnerability, strength in our fears and light within us all.
